*Gasp* Please forgive my ghastly 6 month-long disappearance. I've been uber busy with everything going on in my life (not to mention school) and sadly I became the one person I dreaded becoming: the faux-blogger who blogged a handful of times only to leave his/her blog in blogosphere oblivion. *Sigh* But alas I have returned, bigger, badder, and bloggier (it's a word, look it up) than ever.
I have soooo much to talk about and catch up on, but to save anyone who may be reading this the pain of having to read pages and pages of uninteresting factoids about my life I'll give you the short version. Life has just been moving so quickly I don't even know where to begin. I'll start with Modern Art (my online vintage clothing boutique). While we haven't launched yet, Modern Art is trucking along quite nicely, building a strong and steady portfolio and network. I'm so happy because I finally feel like we've reached a point where we know who we are as a company, a brand, a culture, all that good stuff. So now we're just waiting for the launch....which should happen annnnyyyy minute now (don't held your breath).
Aside from Modern Art, my life has been going swimmingly. I've been freelancing as a stylist which has quite honestly been one of the most amazing and invigorating experiences of my life, seriously. Every time I style a look I feel as though I've created a piece of art. And to know that this art will live on forever and be appreciated by many through the lens of some awesome photographer is the ultimate adrenaline rush. Seriously. Styling has opened so many doors for me. I've met tens of amazing people, all so creative and fabulous in their own right; each one of them inspires me and pushes me to want to be better and to go further. And just recently, an editor for an up and coming magazine based out of Baltimore reached out to me about joining their staff as a wardrobe stylist. That was super exciting. Also, I've been hired as a fashion and style writer for the DC examiner! Which I looooove. Writing is one of my many passions, so to be able to do it and do it about fashion, and get PAID to do it, is, well, AWESOME. Also, did I mention I was recently invited to African Fashion Week in New York? I literally jumped for joy when I found out. I'm beyond excited! It will be my first ever real fashion week. Please believe I'm already dreaming up months worth of outfits (mind you it's only a 3-day event).
So I think those are all the major happenings in my life right now. Plus I think I've bored everyone enough by now. So on that note, remain stylish!
xoxo
